The Chelsea Carwash was an urban carwash, gas station, and deli, located under an overhead railway at 10th avenue in New York City. Cybul Architects objective was to design a building that would glorify the process of washing a car while creating a unique and exciting urban space not normally associated with the carwash or gas station. Cybul Architects was awarded a Silver Medal for their design of the Chelsea Carwash in 2002. By the New Jersey Society of Architects. With the conversion of the old overhead railway to what today is known as The High Line, the Carwash was dismantled and become a Retail Space area.
